Garabandal, Only God Knows, the only film that has reached movie theaters dealing with the events of San Sebastián de Garabandal, will premiere in Uruguay on August 27, 2019. It is interesting to recall that these apparitions played a role in certain events that occurred in the history of Uruguay, known as the Miracle of the Andes.

On October 13, 1972, the jet aircraft carrying members of the Old Christians rugby team, as well as family members and friends left Montevideo for Santiago, Chile. It never made it. It crashed at a height of 4,500 meters in the middle of the Andes mountain range. On board the ill-fated aircraft were forty passengers and five crewmembers. Scarcely a week after the accident, the authorities thought they had died. However, sixteen survivors were rescued on December 22, 1972, after 72 endless days during which they had seen relatives and best friends die. As they described their efforts to survive, it came to the light that they had managed to survive by eating the flesh of those who had died.

Faith in God and friendship were two factors that helped the survivors deal with many challenges, including temperatures that plunged to thirty degrees below zero and death in their midst. They had a supernatural ally, the Virgin of Garabandal.  Their mothers prayed to her so that their sons would be found alive. Eduardo Strauch Urioste recently confirmed this fact in his book titled Out of the Silence, indicating that his mother and many others, among them China Herrán de Bordaberry, first lady of Uruguay at the time, prayed to the Virgin of Garabandal for those who had disappeared. He wrote: “I imagine that my mother from the first moment began to pray to Jesus, her intimate friend. She was not very prone to praying to Mary, but several coincidences came together promoting her to do so, in particular to the Virgin of Garabandal, who reportedly had appeared in a small town in the Cantabrian Mountains.” His mother, Sara Urioste, who died at the age of 97, in 2018, had written the following: “A group of mothers put all of our hope in the Virgin Mary who appeared in Garabandal, and we recovered our sons alive.”
After the premiere in Uruguay, the team of volunteers of Garabandal, Only God Knows, is preparing for the premiere in Peru on September 19th. We will be announcing shortly the premiere dates for the United Kingdom, Chile, Bolivia and Brazil. Garabandal, Only God Knows has sparked a worldwide interest in the events of Garabandal. We can only thank God for allowing us to be His small heralds of the messages of Our Mother of Garabandal, as we continue to pray: Mother, allow this movie to transmit your blessing.
